About the Author

Kesho Scott is associate professor of American studies and sociology at Grinnell College. She is the author of The Habit of Surviving: Black Women’s Strategies for Life and Unlearning Racism: Stop Hurting Others and Ourselves.   Cherry Muhanji is visiting professor of women’s studies at the University of Minnesota; she is working on a novel called Detroit.
Egyirba High is writing a collection of short stories and lecturing in the continuing education program at the University of Minnesota.
